The NCAER study assesses the economic impact of Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport, one of the largest airports in the country, on the regional and national economy. This has been done by analyzing the direct, indirect and induced impact of aviation sector in terms of value addition and employment generation, which will boost up the economy. Input-Output model and information from Primary and secondary sources were used to study the economic impact of the airport. One of the key findings of this study has been the total income impact of CSIA on Maharashtra’s economy which would be to the tune of 4.02 per cent of GSDP (Gross State Domestic Product) by the year 2022-23.
