CD Deshmukh Memorial Lecture
The C.D. Deshmukh Memorial Lecture series has been hosted by NCAER in honour of Chintaman Dwarakanath Deshmukh.
He was RBI’s first Indian Governor from 1943 to 1949; a member of the Indian delegation to the 1944 Bretton Woods Conference that created the IMF and the World Bank; Finance Minister from 1950 to 1956; and a founding father of NCAER in 1956.
The annual C.D. Deshmukh lecture has featured stalwarts like Vijay Kelkar, Arvind Panagariya, Gita Gopinath, Raghuram Rajan and others on key economic issues and ideas of the time.
