Ishita Trivedi is the Economics Editor and Head of Outreach and Communications at NCAER. She has worked in the public policy space in India for close to ten years. Her last role was as the Managing Editor at ‘Ideas for India’ (I4I), the development economics and policy portal funded by the International Growth Centre at London School of Economics. While at I4I, she managed and curated the policy portal end-to-end, and organised in-person policy events in New Delhi.
Previously, at IDFC Institute (now Artha Global), a policy think tank, she researched on elected officials’ priorities using electoral data; evidence for regional disparities; impact of power sector schemes using night-time lights satellite data; and the path to political economy reforms through special governance zones. She has been a Legislative Assistant to Members of Parliament (LAMP) Fellow with PRS Legislative Research where she worked on developing parliamentary interventions and communicating research to members of parliament and senior political leaders. She has also worked on projects with the Centre for Policy Research, YSR Congress Party, Young Leaders for Active Citizenship, and The Quantum Hub.
She has an undergraduate honours degree in economics from Miranda House, Delhi University and a master’s in public policy from O.P. Jindal Global University where she was on the Dean’s Merit List for academic excellence.
