Tim Deisemann is an Associate Economist at the Office of the Chief Economist of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Previously, he worked as a senior analyst at McKinsey & Company on the Net Zero transition,climate resilience and economic development.

Tim is interested in structural transformation across space, agriculture and the environment. He uses novel methods and high-frequency and administrative data for empirical research on policy-relevant questions. His latest paper, which shed light on the role of farmer beliefs on agricultural productivity in Sub-Saharan Africa was published the Journal of Development Economics.

Tim holds an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford and a BSc in Economics from Heidelberg University.
