Udaibir Das is a former central banker and a senior international policy expert on macro-financial, prudential, and central banking issues. He has worked in different capacities at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), The World Bank, the Bank for International Settlements, the Bank of Guyana, and the Reserve Bank of India. He has led macro-financial surveillance and capacity-building policy missions to over 40 advanced, emerging, and developing markets. Until recently, Mr. Das oversaw financial and monetary sector developments in Asia, the Pacific, and Europe for the IMF. He has also been closely associated with the work of the Financial Stability Board and the Basel-based international standard-setting bodies in the design and implementation of internationally accepted policies and analytical tools. His study and research focus on the evolving macro-financial landscape and the impact demographic, climatic, and technological forces have on global finance and central banking practices. Mr. Das has published widely and is a frequent guest speaker at various public and private sector fora. He was on the Questrom School of Business faculty at Boston University. He is a Distinguished Visiting Faculty at the Kautilya School of Public Policy, a Senior Non-Resident Expert at the Bank of England and the Toronto Center, and an Advisor to the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds.
