THE NATIONAL COUNCIL OF APPLIED ECONOMIC RESEARCH (NCAER), established in 1956, is India’s oldest and largest non-profit, independent, economic policy research institute. NCAER is a not-for-profit society registered under Indian law, and contributions to NCAER are tax exempt. NCAER is recognised by the Government of India’s Department of Science and Technology as a scientific research institution.
NCAER receives grants and sponsored research projects from a variety of Indian and international funders, including the Government of India, state governments, foundations, industry, individual and corporate philanthropy, and multilateral and bilateral agencies. NCAER’s Annual Reports provide full, audited statements of its annual finances.
