The NHAI Centre for the Economics of Transport, Mobility, and Logistics was inaugurated by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Chairman, Shri Santosh Kumar Yadav, at NCAER on 20 July 2026, marking the establishment of India’s first applied economics research Centre dedicated to this sector. The Centre is the outcome of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between NHAI and NCAER, with NHAI as its founding anchor. The launch was followed by an inception workshop bringing together senior NHAI officials, transport economists, infrastructure developers, and investors to deliberate on and help shape the Centre’s research agenda.

The workshop comprised different sessions presenting insights on the economics and research on Transport, Mobility, and Logistics.
