Bhawna Taneja

Bhawna Taneja is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the National Data Innovation Centre (NDIC) at NCAER. Her research interests include health economics, maternal and child health, development economics, applied microeconomics, and public policy. She has previously worked as a Research Assistant at the Planning and Policy Research Unit at Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), New Delhi, and as a Guest Faculty at Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB), University of Delhi.

Bhawna has submitted her PhD in Economics at the Centre for the Study of Regional Development (CSRD), School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University. She holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Dr B.R. Ambedkar University, Delhi, and a B.A. (Hons.) in Economics from the University of Delhi.

Sauvik Dey

Sauvik Dey is Strategic Associate to the Director General at NCAER. In this role, he works closely with the Director General on strategic initiatives, stakeholder engagement, and executive decision support.

He has over six years of experience in institutional management, donor relations, policy research, and international cooperation, with a focus on climate finance, sustainability, and financial inclusion.

Prior to joining NCAER, he was a Technical Advisor with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (giz) GmbH, where he supported programmes on climate change adaptation and risk finance across India and Southeast Asia. His work involved managing project activities, engaging with government stakeholders, contributing to the development of financial solutions, and producing policy-relevant research and advisory outputs. He has earlier worked with organisations such as Uber India, PwC India, C-Quest Capital, and Satin Creditcare Network Pvt Ltd, where he contributed to credit operations and business strategy.

He holds a BTech in Civil Engineering from North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, and an MBA from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar.

Aswathi R. Nair

Aswathi R. Nair is an Associate Fellow at NCAER. Her research focuses on monetary policy, inflation targeting, financial cycles, financial stability, and macro-financial linkages in emerging economies. She has previously served as a Research Associate at the Institute for Social and Economic Change and interned at the Reserve Bank of India. She has also served as Visiting Faculty at NMIMS University. Her work has been published in various journals, including Economic Modelling, Applied Economics, Energy Economics, and Central Bank Review.

Aswathi holds a PhD in Economics from IIT Bombay, and an MPhil in Economics from the Central University of Hyderabad.

Nistha Kanodia

Nistha Kanodia is a Research Associate in the National Growth and Macroeconomic Centre at NCAER. Her research interests lie in macroeconomic policy, development economics, and economic inequality. Prior to joining NCAER, she worked at the School of Public Policy, IIT Delhi, where she contributed to research on urban governance and climate vulnerability. Her work involved conducting institutional mapping of urban utility governance applying GIS-based analysis.

Nistha holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Delhi.

Shubhangi Saxena

Shubhangi Saxena is a Research Associate at NCAER. She holds a Master’s degree in Economics, specialising in Trade and Finance, from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), New Delhi, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Delhi University.

Her research interests lie in macroeconomics, public finance, international trade and public policy. Prior to joining NCAER, she was a Policy Research Intern with UNDP India. She has earlier also gained research experience through internships with NITI Aayog and PwC India.
