Poonam Dhawan is working as a Research Team Assistant within the Agriculture, Industry, Trade, Technology & Skills at NCAER. She possesses extensive experience in project management, secretarial assistance and coordination, report design, and field supervision with a focus on rural development and social welfare. Holding a Master’s degree in Rural Development from IGNOU and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts from Delhi University. She has also acquired technical skills through a Certificate Course in Commercial Secretarial Practice (CSP) from the Commercial Secretarial Institute, State Council for Vocational Training, Government of Delhi, and Certificate in Computing (CIC) from IGNOU. Proficient in MS Office, data visualization tools, and statistical software including SPSS. She has been involved in several notable projects including on the Impact Evaluation of Operation Flood on Rural Dairy sector (1999), Market Information Survey of Households, Domestic Tourism Study (2002-03), Post-launch Survey Report of IRDAI’s Insurance Awareness Campaigns (2010-2015), Assessment and Model of Green Jobs Potential in India, Evaluation Study on ‘Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), An Evaluation of India’s Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme, An Evaluation of India’s Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) and NCAER Gig Economy Initiative.
