Introduction Couper in 1998 first introduced the term ‘paradata’ to refer to survey process data in the field of survey methodology (Groves and Couper 2012). In surveys using computer assisted personal interviewing (CAPI) software programmes, such as Blaise, a huge amount of process data are generated throughout the survey.
