Janani Rangan is an Associate fellow at the National Growth and Macroeconomic centre, NCAER. Her PhD in Economics is from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. Janani’s research interests primarily lie in Macroeconomics and International economics. Her doctoral thesis examines the impact of macroeconomic shocks on inflation expectations and liquidity of firms. Additionally, she has worked on projects related to bank mergers, inflationary dynamics and international oil price shocks. She was a gold medallist in her master’s degree in Economics from Loyola college, Chennai and a silver medallist in her bachelor’s degree in Economics from Stella Maris college, Chennai.
Ahana Saha is currently working as a Research Associate at NCAER. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from St. Xavier’s College (autonomous), Kolkata and a Master’s degree in Economics from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. She was awarded the Department Gold Medal for achieving the highest CGPA in her M.Sc. Programme. Her research interests include Macroeconomics, Financial Economics, Applied Econometrics and International Trade. Previously, she interned at the SPARK Internship Programme of IIT Roorkee.
Devneel Goswami currently serves as a Senior Associate, Partnership and Communications at NCAER-NDIC with the responsibility of managing stakeholder relations, liaising with partner organisations and ensuring the visibility of the organisation’s academic and professional portfolio. He is a dedicated Public Policy Professional who has closely worked at the intersection of Policy, Partnerships, Project Management and Communication in the Public-Private sector. Devneel completed a B.A. (Hons) in History with a minor in Political Science from Hindu College, University of Delhi after which he reported as a Journalist for The Wire. With a subsequent Master’s in Public Policy from the University of Bristol, Devneel supervised the implementation of policy interventions in rural blocks of Bihar as a Policy Associate at the Centre for Social and Behaviour Change, Ashoka University.
Devneel is a firm believer in the ability of Public Policy to bring about positive change in society and generate mass impact. He is also a strong advocate of an interactive relationship between policymakers and the media in order to close the gap of understanding between the creation of Public Policy and the aspirations of the masses. Devneel’s interests lie in Policy Analysis, Policy Communication, Human Development and tracing the spectrum of his Assamese identity using an academic lens.
Somdev Singh Deora is a Research Associate at NCAER.
He holds an MA in Economics (with a specialization in economic development) from South Asian University, Delhi (an international university under the ambit of SAARC). He received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Political science, and Sociology from Christ (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru.
His interests lie in the study of agriculture productivity, trade and globalization, and the manufacturing sector in India. He has worked on projects relating to the study of changes in land use patterns, and the impact of FDI and exports on the employment and income of manufacturing sector employees.
He is well-versed in statistical software’s such as Stata and Excel.
