Shweta Gupta

Shweta Gupta is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the National Data Innovation Centre (NDIC) at NCAER. Her research focuses on environmental and climate change issues, natural resource economics, development economics, applied microeconomics, and econometrics. She has previously held positions as a research associate at the Centre for Socio-Economic and Political Research and served as a teaching assistant at the Delhi School of Economics. Additionally, she has taught microeconomics at National Law University, Odisha.

Shweta has recently submitted her doctoral dissertation at the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. She also holds a postgraduate degree in Economics from the University of Hyderabad and a Bachelor’s degree from Kirorimal College, University of Delhi. Outside of her research, Shweta channels her creativity through doodling, adding a touch of artistic flair to her busy academic life.

Richa Jha

Richa Jha holds a Master’s degree in Economics from O.P. Jindal Global University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University. Her academic inclination is towards empirical development economics and economic inequality, with a strong interest in working with large datasets. Previously, she has interned with NABARD’s Department of Economic Analysis and Research, where she evaluated innovative financing models for farmer producer organizations.

Athira Vinod

Athira Vinod is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the National Data Innovation Centre (NDIC) at NCAER. Her primary research interests are in development economics, education economics and applied microeconomics. She has previously worked as a research assistant at not-for-profit organizations such as the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Self-Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), India.

Athira holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Nottingham, an MSc in Development Economics from the University of Birmingham and a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of Delhi.

Firoz Malik

Firoz Malik is a Research Analyst at NCAER within States, Sectors, Surveys, and Impact Evaluation unit. He holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Indira Gandhi National Open University and possesses strong expertise in field management, data management, data analysis, and survey coordination. He is highly skilled in statistical software, including STATA and Advanced Excel. Firoz has also enhanced his independent management abilities through survey-based studies, with a particular focus on coordination and ensuring data consistency.

Suvajit Banerjee

Suvajit Banerjee is a Fellow at the NCAER in the Research Theme of Computable General Equilibrium Modelling and Policy Analysis. He did his Ph.D. in Economics at the Visva Bharati University. He is a macroeconomic modeler with more than 3 years of post-PhD experience in policy-oriented research, focusing on trade and environmental issues. His work centers on border carbon adjustment aspects and energy sector dynamics. He has provided consulting services to multilateral funding organizations such as the World Bank and IIED. His research and teaching interests revolve around energy and environmental economics.

Methodologically, he specializes in input-output analysis (IOA) and computable general equilibrium (CGE) modeling. Additionally, he has been honoured with the 2023 Leontief Memorial Prize, the highest recognition for a young researcher in the field of input-output analysis and modeling awarded by the International Input-Output Association (IIOA).
