Dev Singh Thakur is Fellow–Traffic Engineering, Road Safety, and Mobility in the Centre for Economics of Transport, Mobility and Logistics at NCAER.
He is a traffic and transportation engineer with extensive experience in traffic engineering and studies, mobility research and analysis, AI-driven mobility analytics, road safety audits, crash and blackspot investigations, and transportation engineering.
Prior to joining NCAER, he worked with Transoft Solutions Pvt. Ltd. (Australia) as Project Engineer on a remote basis, where he was engaged in traffic engineering and transportation analysis, real-time traffic monitoring, safety analysis, and computer vision-based mobility solutions. Earlier, he worked with IHUB-Data Foundation, IIIT Hyderabad, where he was involved in Project iRASTE, an AI-based road safety initiative, focusing on Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), driver monitoring systems, road safety, and mobility analytics.
He holds an MTech in Transportation Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra and a BE in Civil Engineering. He is also pursuing a PhD (Part time) in Traffic Engineering and Safety from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research-Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI), New Delhi.
